ArcelorMittal Construction recognises the vital role of BIM in the sector’s digital revolution.
Much more than mere 3D modelling, BIM is a process that is rooted in a common source of complete and verified data relating to every conceivable element of the asset throughout its lifespan. Advanced BIM practices incorporate progress tracking, critical path control and, once the building is in use, feed into asset management and maintenance.
Salih Ergezen explains that BIM can also help to deliver circularity because it “provides a lasting record of products and materials within the built environment, offering essential information for recycling and re-use when a structure is decommissioned”. ArcelorMittal Construction offers comprehensive BIM data across a wide selection of our products in various markets. In a first for the industry, our BIM objects incorporate lifecycle analysis (LCA) data, making it much easier for our customers to assess and demonstrate the environmental impact of their project.
On our website, a "BIM objects" section is now available via the Services menu. You will find the technical data of each product indicating its own weight, fire reaction and thermal data. A library of materials is also available, including our Hairplus® and Hairultra® organic coatings.
