Tips & tricks - What to do to avoid water infiltration?
15.04.2024 - Tips & tricks

Water seepage on steel roofs is a common problem that is very easy to avoid. We would like to give you 4 points of interest that you can pay attention to in order to avoid this.

Point 1: Pay due attention to the laying plan
Keep in mind the correct laying order. You can find the correct order in the picture below. There is a distinction between right and left panels.

Point 2: Be aware of the prevailing wind direction
The direction of installation is chosen so that it is opposite to the prevailing wind direction.

Point 3: Use the right slope
A of slope more than 7% for profiles and panels is what we recommend as standard. A slope between 7% and 5% can also be used, but only for profiles and panels consisting of 1 piece. No penetrations such as ventilation, skylights, etc. are allowed. A pitch of less than 5% may not be used! You then choose a different type of roof.

Point 4: Ensure the right overlap
The end overlap must be large enough and butyl tape must be used. The use of silicone is not permitted. Also for the longitudinal overlap, butyl strips ensure that you will never have water seepage.
